Colorado.com

X
Overview

Homepage re-design for Colorado.com. The old Colorado.com used a Adobe Flash image carousel that was unnecessarily heavy and cumbersome to use. Initially, I was responsible for converting the image carousel to a non-Flash format and simplifying it. However, after research focus groups concluded that instead of overwhelming users with a collage of photos, highlighting some of Colorado's most spectacular activities and attractions individually would be more impactful. The three selected for launch were the Maroon Bells, Garden of the Gods, and skiing. Additionally, a new navigation was created, a new content layout, and customized seasonal landing pages.

Overview

The Five-Minute Meeting Planner is a resource aimed at helping meeting planners plan every aspect of a meeting, from deciding on a location to picking a florist. In other words, it's to a meeting planner what Trip Advisor is to a leisure traveler. Because meeting planners are extremely busy individuals, focus studies were conducted to pinpoint the three most essential questions needed for a meeting planner to begin a search. Those three questions were emphasized, along with a friendly "app-like" navigation. It was initially contracted and built for the cities of Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Monterey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver with potential to expand to other cities.

Being a startup, they needed a color palette, logo and website. We settle on the modern yet progressive colors of deep red and light grays and a minimal albeit modern logo, with the crescent representing a film reel. City of Philadelphia

X
Overview

The city of Philadelphia wanted a fresh redesign accentuating their new bright and vibrant color palette and emulating the look of their new set of print guides. Additionally, they wanted a homegrown CMS for not only updating and managing content, but also building out pages and changing in-page elements. I worked with a team of developers to produce such a CMS and integrate it onto the site. Currently, a leaner and cleaner version two of the website is in the process of being implemented.

Overview

Type is Good is an ongoing personal project. While there are a number of satisfying print and typography blogs and resources (e.g. I Love Typography, Typographica, TypeNeu, FontFeed, etc.), there aren't many that focus their attention on good web typography. Type is Good aims to do just that--a design blog with examples of good web typography at the forefront. The logo is a customized Galaxie Cassiopeia from Constellation. The website is a Wordpress install with responsive features, so it's functional in iPad/tablets and mobile devices too.
